Nice post. I agree to an extent that attention is to women what sex is to men. However, it's not that simple. I think women's relationship to their desire for attention is a little more mixed than men's with sex, stereotypically. I think men are rather straightforward in wanting sex, whereas women are simultaneously desiring and ashamed, guilty or even fearful about their attention at times.
